Round 2, Game 3: Celtics v Cavs

When you go to so many games, you get to witness history.

We saw Game 5 of the 2008 ALCS.  “The comeback of the Red Sox from a seven-run deficit is the second-biggest in postseason history, the largest since Game 4 of the 1929 World Series, and the largest ever for a team on the brink of elimination.” (Thanks Wikipedia)

We saw Rondo pass Cousy for the most assists in a season (Celtics record).

OK, I’m struggling to finish this post – (I just want to move on and forget this game already) so maybe I’ll come back and fill in the other random history we’ve witnessed at a later date.

But tonight we witnessed the worst playoff home loss in Celtics history.  (124-95).  It was brutal.  No defense.  And LeBron put on a Try-Out performance for Jay-Z’s team, as he was in attendance with Beyonce – dressed like it was a Lakers game.  Blech.

We thought we still had chance here (at tip-off):

Jay-Z and Beyonce for LeBron’s try out:

A little reminder to us that we have had it good:

It’s sad when a highlight of the night is getting to see our old friend Leon play… for the other team… in garbage time.  🙁

Round 1, Game 2: Celtics v Heat

Hey, Boooo Richardson! Boston is a Brotherhood. Miami is the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

Oh good lord, the sequel was even better!

Ray went OFF tonight.
BBD stepped up to fill the awfully large shoes of KG.
It would’ve been so great if he had headbutted the basketball post as a part of pregame intensity ramp up.

The atmosphere was electric. Everyone booed Quentin (QBichardson/Boo Richardson?) every time he touched the ball. It was great to witness the complete destruction of his play and the team. At one point, they all huddled up (sans Mr. Star Jones) waving their arms, shaking their heads, and yelled at each other. There were plenty of Best Supporting Actress signs for Q, Free KG signs, and many others. I think they played every KG spot they had on the Jumbotron throughout the night.  They also played the home run of newly appointed Boston hero Darnell McDonald, saying “A few minutes ago at Fenway” and then replayed his run around the bases and showed the score.  And later they played highlights and the final score from the Bruins win from their playoff game sayind, “Last night here at the Garden”.  Pretty great stuff.

All in all, a hyped up game to attend – one we won’t forget and feel lucky to have witnessed.  Charged up fans.

I doubt many people envisioned the game going down like this – W (106-77).

More photos (like Boo yelling at his teammates) after the jump.

Round 1, Game 1: Celtics v Heat

Whoooeeeee! What a game! What a win! (76-85). We yelled the whole game long – my throat is still hoarse.  We will miss KG next game, but what a game!  Also, TA won the 6th man award – then followed up with impressive D on Wade.  What a game.

We got pictures of “The Skirmish” – one is included after the jump.

The parade for the Celtics was today.  I couldn’t stay away.  I didn’t have much time, so I walked straight from MIT to the end of the route at Copley Square.  Continue reading →

Quite Possibly The Only Post

If this does end up to be the only post, under normal circumstances, that would make this a sad little blog.  But this one post stands tall and proud, enough so to carry a whole blog on it’s lonesome.
