Fourth of July Fireworks

Our friend rents a Boston hotel room on a top floor every year with a great view of the fireworks show. This year we were able to accept the invite and watch the great show from a new vantage point!

Rest of Newburyport

This post will detail our last day in Newburyport and also include photos taken from a non-phone camera of the first two days too.  Additionally, the last two “moblog” posts have been updated with relevant links (you know you wanted to know more about the plovers!)

We finished our Newburyport trip with a surprise Farmers’ Market find.  When we woke up in the morning, we checked out of the hotel and left our bag at the front desk so we could do a little more exploring.  We returned our bikes to the rental shop and found a Farmers’ Market had sprung up right next door!  We had a great local coffees and breakfast burritos and enjoyed looking at everything.  The highlight was most definitely cider mill donuts – just like fall in Michigan.  After heading back to the center of town, we took care of some people watching and some gelato before heading back to the train station to get home.  We had a great weekend.  Thank you again so much, Thadd and Shannon, for a fabulous graduation gift!

Red Sox Game 6 – W v Brewers – 12-3

Fiallen Red Sox Game 6

Today was awesome. The game started with a double bang.  First, the Bruins and the duck boats made an encore appearance to present the Stanley Cup to Boston sports fans.  Second, the Sox a crazy good first inning, jumping out 6-0 on the Brewers.  Wakefield got the Win and we finished 12-3AGon hit a triple for his 1000th career hit!  AND we watch the USA Gold Cup game on our phone and got to watch that win too!  Also, Ray Allen was at the game, supporting the B’s and the Sox with his fam! What a town! In the 9th inning, they made an announcement that anyone who was interested was welcome on to come down onto the field after the game!!! It was a great day!

South End Garden Tour

We noticed signs for the South End Garden Tour around the neighborhood and decided we were going this year.  It was great that Gary’s mom was in town and the four of us enjoyed a beautiful day looking at all the gardens.  The tour gave self-guided access to private or tucked away gardens throughout our neighborhood.  There are some very pretty places that people have created in their tiny spaces.  We really enjoyed it.  And we loved that Daniel joined us afterwards for lunch!
