Mama Jan came out this week to see Jeannette’s pregnant belly and to help with the move. She boxed up the apartment while we worked this week – such an indispensable help! Today we moved all the boxes from the apartment to the nursery in the new place. We still have a bit to do: like move furniture and the kitchen stuff. But we completely filled a cargo-sized ZipVan (which was awesome, by the way). We had pretty good parking karma for the move too, so that was nice. After unloading the van, we went to IKEA to buy some furniture. We were lucky they were sold out of one of the box springs we need – there is no way it would’ve fit in the van! We’ll head to IKEA again soon, I’m sure, but hopefully it won’t be as big a haul next time. We unloaded the IKEA stuff at the condo, and Gary & Daniel were out and about and kind enough to stop by help us get the couch up the stairs. All in all, a super productive day! Josh was a super man, we couldn’t have done it without Mama Jan’s help, and G&D coming through in the clutch helped make the day a success!

New Year’s Eve
We spent New Year’s Eve with the boys. We (Daniel) made homemade raviolis from scratch! It was super fun AND super yummy! We brought the Wii down with us and played lots of games. It was a great New Year’s Eve. Daniel even made French toast in the morning! A great start to the New Year!

Christmas Eve
We spent Christmas Eve with our boys. We finally made it over to Toro to try the dishes we had been told so much about. We had a great night with Gary & Daniel. They brought over cheesecake to cap off the night with dessert and some Le Reina del Sur.

Pats Game – W v Colts – 24-31
We bought these tickets back before we found out Peyton wasn’t playing this season – so it wasn’t as big a game as we had hoped, but we had great fun with Gary and Daniel. Our seats were in the very last row. It was actually pretty awesome – still a great view of the field to watch plays develop, and no one behind us to spill on us. A W is a W, and we had a good time. Even our Colts fan, Gary.

Lake Compounce
We had an amazing Labor Day weekend. We took a day trip down to Connecticut with Gary and Daniel for some amusing fun at the world’s oldest continuously operating theme park, Lake Compounce! We had SO MUCH FUN! They have a water park (Jeannette’s favorite) and three roller coasters and all sorts of fun rides. Josh’s favorites were the roller coaster built on the side of a mountain that goes through the forest (Boulder Dash) and the free fall ride (Down Time). We did both of those rides multiple times thanks to getting to the park at opening time. Though, the lines were ridiculously short for most rides all day long – they were definitely nothing compared to Disney or 6 Flags. Daniel’s brother and his kids joined us and we had an amazing day. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the yummy fried oreos and the free soda. That’s right, the park has cups and self-serve soda fountains all over the park! Love it!
After our awesome day at the park, we headed over to Daniel’s folks house and had a great family dinner in their garden, before heading back to Boston. What a day!
