An Early Goodbye

Since we got married, we have documented our apartments before we move.  We make a silly little video before we pack or change anything, so we have all our regular life moments from the apartment recorded:  how the apartment was arranged, little memories  of where we ate our dinners, things the cats have done, and stuff like that.  As we hope to be moving by the end of April, we documented now, so we can start packing.  Here are some photos we also took. We have love, love, LOVED this apartment!

Progress

The electrician finished installing the lights in the pass through over the bar.  The plumber installed the new kitchen faucet.  Josh patched and painted the hall closet.  They did more demo work in the bathroom – they have to shorten the pipes for the sink that come out of the wall so that the cabinet drawers work right.  Those contractors sure do move our new bathtub around the condo a lot!

Water Heater & Washer/Dryer

Today, the plumber had a big day.  He removed the old tub and he rerouted the old water lines from the hall closet to the closet in the bathroom, where we wanted the new water heater, and finished the new one’s installation.  The old water heater closet is where we are putting our new washer/dryer unit that was delivered today!  We ordered it special as it has a super small footprint (so it can fit in the hall closet) and because it is a condensation dryer (which is neat because the washing and the drying happen in the same tumbler) it doesn’t need to be vented (and therefore can works in this interior closet with no access to an exterior condo wall).  The hall closet looks pretty beat up.  We asked the tiler to tile it with the same tile we are putting in the bathroom.  And Josh is going to try to get in there and patch and paint before they install the washer/dryer.

Arranging the Bathroom

Today we finished building the bathroom cabinet.  We put it in the bathroom to figure out how far we could move the toilet, as the new bathtub is wider.  We also figured out how we wanted to lay our kitchen floor tiles.  The new master bedroom medallion looks great in the light of day.

More work done

They installed our new medallion in the master bedroom.  There are no lights in the room, so the picture is not so great – but we are excited!  And they did more work in the bathroom, fixing the shelves around the water heater.
