We spent the weekend cleaning windows, window sills, radiators, changing outlet covers, scraping paint drops from everywhere, replacing the screen door, removing defunct brackets and nails and screws for things that no longer exist, measuring for blinds, removing moldy caulking, chiseling packed dirt & grime from window locks & seals (& are wondering if now this will negatively impact our heating bill come winter), and cleaning dead bugs out of light fixtures & cupboards. We feel pretty darn productive. We also moved our two HUGE leather chairs (only chairs we own) over in a Zipcar, along with some cold beers. Now we have a place to sit and relax after a hard day’s work. We do need to get a little more light in the bedroom – our one lonely lamp so far doesn’t cut it. We still LOVE the view from our little roof deck.

This is Baker. Don’t let it die.
Our last night in Baker House unpacked. We will treasure our time spent here forever. Baker, and our Baker family, was very good to us and this will always be a special place for us. Jeannette lived here when we got engaged, we got married here, we spent the first 4 years of our married life here, and we have made many dear friends here.

Empty, But Ours
The keys are ours! Now begins the clean up before the move in. These pictures can give you an idea of our place until you fly out and visit! We’ll post more once we get settled and those might help give a better picture of what it is really like! We love it. But it’s a lot of clean up work first.

The Parental Gift of Nantucket!
Our parents and Grandpa Brown took us to Nantucket to celebrate the big graduation and take a little time off! It was great to relax and be with our family, even if it was a little rainy! We do love Cisco Brewery and we love Nantucket’s cedar shingles!
