A family (and friends) reunion to celebrate the life of our amazing Doris Brown, my grandmother-extraordinaire.
This is my grandparent’s beautiful yard and the site of the celebration. The flower gardens are “Doris’ Memory Garden”.
This is my handsome grandfather.
And his brother, my Uncle Dick.
My cute pops!
So many good friends and family came out for the day! From near and far. It was a great day and I know Grandma loved every minute of it. Here are buckets of pictures, we’ll start off with Wayne saying something smart, I’m sure. 🙂
Tina, Mark and Liam… be forewarned… there are a lot of Liam pics in here! And I only put about 2% of the ones I took of him. And of course all of his pics were super cute! He’s just started taking steps on his own.
Sad Liam. (double earache and getting his 12th tooth!)
Less sad Liam.
He can see himself in the lens and is now starting to make faces at himself.
Happy Liam.
Loving the croquet set.
Liam had some hard times this day.
But he did love to see himself in the lens.
Happy Liam again! Aw, Happy Thornton boys!
BFF:
(Josh is very certain there are 10. Becky doesn’t believe him.)
These are baby tiny kittens that my folks rescued from under the highway after the party.
And then a few last shots before the red-eye flight home to Boston:
Me and Ma.
Me and Grandpa.
The Three of Us.
Some really great pictures. Thank you so much!
Great Pictures, I am sure that Doris
was with all of you in Spirit.
We really wish that we could have been there to see everyone. The pictures are great. Would have been better to see you in person, and hug you, and visit. Mom now has Rex and I as permanent house guests(?). That has been in the works for the past two months, but was in the final processes, with lots of work taking place at both places during that last month. Everything has been pretty crazy, all summer. Hope to see you all someday in the near future. Love to you all. Lela and Donna
Wonderful pictures. We would have loved to have been there. It truely looks like a beautiful day.
Sorry I could not be there. I always enjoyed the visits from Doris and Bob, when they went through Pekin on their trips around the US. It was good to share the family records with Doris. The pictures were great.
