The parade for the Celtics was today. I couldn’t stay away. I didn’t have much time, so I walked straight from MIT to the end of the route at Copley Square. I was there a few minutes early so I walked around and got jostled in with all the celebrating folks. It was fun to see the crazies, the diehards, the babies and little kids, the old Boston fans (walkers and all), and just everyone come together and be excited. The language was not always PG-rated in front of all these kids, of course, but that was to be expected.
I saw a lot of fun T-shirts, some not suitable for posting. Here are a couple that were:
And there the requisite showing of unfortunate South Shore fashion:
The crowds were great though! These folks are sitting on top of the bus stops:
A Boston Celtics NBA 2008 Champions Flag waves from the Old Hancock Tower above the weather beacon. Pretty Great!
This was as the Duck boats were getting close:
And then they were here.
Lucky, GINO and Tommy:
Our hero, The Truth, and the Finals MVP trophy:
btw, Pagliuca, Celtics owner, is just trying to make sure his hepped up star doesn’t fall off the boat. Pierce hoisted that thing the whole time he was in my line of sight, leaning all over the place, acting a fool. He was crazy — He was great.
Doc (he was yelling and pointing at the crowd the whole way!):
PJ (smiled the whole time!), Pruitt (camera) and, believe it or not, KG (other raised arm), side note, everyone missed KG on my side of the road but PJ got a ton of love:
Perk, Posey, and Final’s Game 2 Hero Powe’s boat (Posey got the most love in my area, I don’t even know if people on my side saw Perk and Powe… I didn’t until I went through my pictures):
Ray Allen and Scal’s boat (there were a few yells for Scal-a-bri-ne, and you know everyone loves Ray, especially the ladies):
Danny Ainge got a good cheer from the crowd in my area:
House and Little House (Eddie got his own chant again ED-DIE ED-DIE ED-DIE):
and Rondo was the Caboose to chants of Ra-jon Ran-do!:
LA is beat!
So I didn’t see Big Baby or Sam Cassell but they were there too, and I didn’t really see KG. I have a pic of Scot Pollard’s back 😉 but it didn’t make the comprehensive mix. Wish you other Celtic fans had been here to go with me! xoxo

Those are some amazing shots! Great work.
I wish I could have been there. It would have been awesome.
