St. Patty’s Day Parade

After church on Sunday we took Becky to see Boston’s famous St. Patty’s Day Parade. She got to see all the bagpipes and marching and everything else the parade is famous for.  Afterwards we hit up Doughboy Donuts (another Boston institution) before having to take her to the airport. We had such a great visit with her!  Come again soon Buck!

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Becky came out to visit and we had a Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious time. Literally! We went to see Mary Poppins!  It was absolutely amazing!

Actually the whole day was great!  We had brunch with Gary and Daniel at Tremont 647 to start the day, then walked around our South End neighborhood, and then headed over to the North End for pastries and cappuccinos at Cafe Vittoria.  We got to show her Josh’s ticket booth at Fanueil hall.  And then we stopped for preshow drinks at a hotel bar near the theater and they had Mary Poppins themed drinks!  So fun!  The show was phenomenal – Bert danced on the ceiling and Mary flew over the audience!  We loved the whole thing!  Afterwards we went to the Beehive for a late dinner and drinks.  A great day!  Yay!

All photos, except the menu photo, are Becky’s.

Becky found these great YouTube clips of Mary Poppins:

Christmas-ing on the Oregon Coast

We missed photographing some of the fun memories of making cookies and putting together puzzles with Grandpa (we were too busy making cookies and putting together puzzles) but here are some of our pictures.  You can check out more photos of the fun on Thadd’s blog, or on Shannon and John’s, or on Mr. Allen’s.

Celtics Open Practice

We got to go to the C‘s open practice again this year.  This time we watched them practice in the Garden.  Last year, we had to drive up to Lowell to watch them practice. Big Baby introduced everyone in a way only he could – his teammates were in turn embarrassed or embarrassed for him or laughing out loud!  Even Rasheed Wallace was there! That was great! After some sets and scrimmages, they signed autographs on free tee-shirts and gave them to fans and took off their gear, getting ready to head home.  Nate was drilling 3′s and Ray was trying to distract him by throwing his huge tennis shoes in front of him.  So Nate grabbed one of Ray’s shoes, and made Ray chase him shoeless around the court.  He finally tossed it into the crowd.  Ray finally gave up and had one of the younger guys toss his other shoe into the crowd on the other side of the court before walking back to the locker room in his socks.  Baby took his requisite pictures with a baby and then it was a night.  We had a great time – and for Jeannette’s folks, it was like visiting another country!
